Hi All, Haven't posted an image before so here goes. Still waiting for my D500 (ordered 2/13) so using my D300 and the Nikon 200-500 5.6. Caught this fellow 'drying out.' Love the Batman Cape look and those feet or I should say 'flippers.' If I didn't know it was an adult I would think he had to grow into them.

Very nice photo. Great color and focus. Looks like that lens is working well for you. Keep up the good work, have fun, post some more photos, and have a GREAT DAY!

Well .... since the first one went in 'OK' I'll try a couple more. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Acorn Woodpecker building a home
Ring Necked Duck
Two Great Blue Herons lifting off (there were actually 6 of them but I had the zoom cranked out to get an eagle and only 2 fit)

#1 is fantastic in download. Great clarity and color, no distracting elements, amusing posture - and of course their faces look cute always :)

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the kind remarks. Not sure if you were talking about the Cormorant or the Acorn Woodpecker. Let me know. Thanks,
Dale

Nice job with all of the birds. I especially like the attitude of your cormorant. It makes me think of a vampire somehow. Sinister. Sailors used to have superstitions about cormorants--I can sort of see why. Good job on all!

Very nice picture. Sometimes even common (ie, ordinary) birds give great pictures because of the pose or location. You did a nice job of making this bird intriguing.

Nice shot, I still use my D300 often and will continue to do so until I feel that it is limiting my ability.

Excellent work on all of your shots.

I believe your cormorant is in breeding plumage. Your woodpecker is a variety that I've never seen.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks ... The Acorn Woodpecker is a west coaster so don't think they are out your way. Live up here in the pine forests.
