This past weekend at the Appalachian Festival. I have never attended one so I thought it may be a good opportunity for a few shots, which is all I came away with. This happens to be one titled 'Ghigau' meaning (Beloved Woman)

Very well done Mr. Chinn. Yep that's it. You didn't rush this one and got it right.

Thank you Frank !!! Yes, I was patient and looked it over very carefully. I'm sure there is something that could be picked on though.

Thanks John, glad you like it.

Dave, this is very nice work, love how you composed it. Also, wondering how you got that background, it works perfect.

Thanks Walt, the background is something I use from time to time. I mostly use it as a grunge layer on some of my subjects where I reduce the opacity to where it is very subtle, but yes, I agree, it seemed to work well here.

David, I like the processing. I like it very much. She has a wonderful face with character. The background matches wonderfully. It too has cracks. However, my personal issue is that it is posed. It is static, frozen and other than the detail in the face, clothing and back wall, does not have the story that strikes me. Had she been caught in an action or doing something spontaneous, I could see a greater story. I realize this would be hard to do, if not simply not available. Had she looked to the side, that would not have changed much, IMO. Perhaps a different expression but then again, her stern look in a story in itself. Take my comments for little worth that it may contain. The shot is very good and your technique is exemplary.
What an interesting face, an excellent shot! WTG!
Nicely done Dave. Like the back ground work in this one. It works quite well.
