After the rain I went out to see what I could find. The electric wires and towers caught my eye in the middle of a peaceful lake. CC welcome
Feel free to embellish this shot

It's an interesting study of man vs. nature. The glass-like water adds to the contrasting moods. For composition, I would prefer to see the water slightly less obstructed by the bush on left, if possible.

Have you thought about doing a series of shots with this theme, Frank? I think a grouping could be a strong story.

Since Frank already did a cheerful uplifting glow version, I tried for a gloomier one with more sky drama.

Watch out for your Big dust bunny upper right:)

I like the shot because of the contrast between the ugly but admittedly finely detailed towers, and the peaceful pond with its natural and colorful plant life.

The calm water is what caught my eye in contrast to the large towers and wires. I purposely used the bushs to frame the shot
I hadn't thought about a group. This i s why I enjoy posting. Different people having different ideas on a scene.

I love what you did with the clouds. I have been to this spot before, I often go back to spots looking for changes that take place over time. The towers have always been there. But this time the whole scene looked different this time.

minniev, good reworking. Too bad that tree on the left is there. Kills the picture for me. However, you show the potential of the shot.

I purposely left the tree in the shot. No only to frame the shot but for a little more " nature".

That is a very common practice and I do it myself. In this particular shot, I think it is overwhelming and would have stepped aside a little for a better angle of the two.

As others have commented the bush on the right is quite prominent and completes with the focal point. Though I do not like the towers in the background at all, I understand they can add a story element if that was intended.

But there is an image here. There appears to be a wonderful reflection in the clam waters of the pond. The foreground grass would make a wonderful frame. Let the reflection actually become the focal point with the towers on the left side replacing the non-descript bush.

I would re-shoot. Just my opinion.

Mark, thanks for looking and commenting, Normally I would shot the scene and do whatever it took to make sure the towers and wires were not in the picture. This time I purposely had the towers in mind when I press the button

As much as I dislike the towers, I understand the desire to include them. I have a little collection of this kind of thing myself. I call them The Industrials, and my traveling companions know I am likely to demand to stop at them too, not as much as a beautiful nature scene, but enough that they'll slow down and proclaim "there's an Industrial, wanta stop?"

Light towers, power plants, factories, refineries, dams, electrical poles, all that ugly stuff...

I wanted to show the intrusion of man on an otherwise calming scene. Keep taking those industrials :)
