I pay my taxes & the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, in my case,
I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem).

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

So, here is my question:
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a DOLE payment, because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.
I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT - doing drugs while I work.

Can you imagine how much money we would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a DOLE payment?

I guess we could call the program "URINE OR YOU'RE OUT"!

Another example of why we need to vote out All incumbent congressman. Also limit the term of the replacements.

Unfortunately term limits are made law by the same lawmakers that would be put out of a job, if passed. All the more reason to not reelect anybody. But, in a lot of cases, the politician runs unopposed.

Every single state that has implemented drug testing for welfare has LOST MORE MONEY on the testing than they saved by catching people using drugs on welfare.

Repeating the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity...

The cost is most likely in administration but it might create a few new jobs.

Absolutely. And while we're at it, they should pay income tax on that payment as well.

Here in Southern Oregon they have been crying to the news that they can't find qualified employees. Meaning they can't pass a drug test. "Well I guess if I can't pass a drug test, I'll just go apply for my free benefits."

   Seems like a "no brainer" but the stats show us that testing is a great windfall for the testers! More $$ lost for our gumint (you & I!) So we may find lobbyists pushing for testing are paid by the owners of the testing facilities.

How about stopping payment to anyone who is caught doing anything illegal? That way, the filtering mechanism is dependent on how a person fits within society. If they're not causing any trouble, eh let them be. If they constantly keep raising hell and breaking the law, shut them down. They apparently have too much time on their hands.

I agree with you 100%. They should pass a drug test and if found to be using drugs be denied benefits. I also think they should perform some kind off community service for their money. I'm not talking a 40 hour week but a day or so they feel that they earned the money.

I remember, many years ago I was on my way home from work. It was a Thursday and I didn't get paid till the next day and needed to stop to get something for supper. I went to the market and had a pound of hamburger to buy with the few dollars I had. There was a guy in front of me who had several items in his cart and when the cashier finished and gave him his total he pulled out a packet of food stamps to pay for his groceries. The cashier told him he could not use food stamps to pay for beer or cigarettes, and he had both in his basket. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash that would choke a horse. He proceeded to flip through the fifties and twenties to get to a ten dollar bill out to pay for his "contraband" and then went out, got into his new Cadillac and drove off. I just stood there looking at my five dollar bill and wondering what the hell just happened.
