A very intense action shot Frank !!! Well done. I like it very much.

A very nice family snap Frank but underlines that old saying twos company threes a crowd. The kiddie in the background is ya problem so hope you kept snapping on the main two.
Feet and the ball have movement blur which would have been better I reckon if shutter speed was lower and showing mor movement. Or freeze it completely. This halfway house seems to jar slightly with my eyes.
The lads eyes you have caught perfectly and that's where the eyes go when first looking at this.
check out those tongue biting shin kickers!! I agree with what Billy said. But mostly find myself feeling so sorry for myself that I am no longer young like this. Oh to chase that ball over the field...

You get what you get with sports shots...sort of like street. These two happen to be friends in the game at the same time on the same place on the field so I was fortunate to grab it third wheel or not. Shutter speed is tricky depending on what you want. The feet and legs are generally faster than the torso and arms in this sport. I wanted a slight bit of leg and ball motion but not a complete body blur. I believe I achieved that here as you can feel just a touch of motion. Sorry if itÂ’s making you feel sea sick. I am capable of freezing the action when wanted as seen in this added image which I am not quite finished processing yet but have posted for an example. Check the exif data of both images and you will see there is more to the story than just shutter speed. You might find it surprising the shutter speed on the frozen action shot is half the speed of the motion blurred action shot. Odd huh! Direction of movement is a very important aspect as I mentioned to you long ago in your waterboard shots. Thanks for taking time to evaluate the image and give comment.

Wears me out taking the photos piet.
Photo #1 - I love the intensity of these future athletes! That you caught all three with a foot in the air and the ball in the air at the same time? Talk about the decisive moment!
The bright colors of the jerseys and their expressions add to the emotion and mood. Having three closely grouped kids together adds to the fun and energy of the moment. Filling the frame - the choice of focal length (this week's book club chapter) -brings us right into the action. Terrific shot, Frank.

I like your getting down on the grass for the right angle. However, I do not like the boy on the left. If you want a buddy shot, then put the two of them together or have them concentrating on some common object. Look how powerful the picture becomes when you crop for just the kicker.
Turning to the first post, I really like the girl in front. Look at that face and tongue. That is a precious shot; a memory for a lifetime. Makes up for the third girl.
In both pictures, I would add a little negative vignette to emphasize the children.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks abc, the second was more of an example of a point being made. Appreciate all your comment.
