Every time I upload pictures to PSE14 from a camera or file, after uploading the program freezes and I have to use the three finger salute and reload the program. The pictures are uploaded OK but this constant freezing is a pain in the backside. I went on-line and other people seem to have this problem but no solution was forth coming. Any help or? would be greatly appreciated.

My PSE14 is working just fine (thankfully).

What is your operating system?

How much RAM do you have?

How much free HDD space is available?

Since you can't upload pictures to "PSE 14" - am I safe to assume you open the organiser of PSE 14 and use whatever organizer commands you need to bring in the photos from camera or card?
If so, have you tried to NOT open PSE, but to upload the pictures directly to where you'd like them to reside, in Windows Explorer, or it's Mac equivalent?
When that's done, open Organiser and import those pictures into it.
Organiser may crash again, but it may be worth a try...

I ran fine with 8gb ram, but do better now with 16.

I would guess that 4 is enough but can't say for sure.

I had the same problem with PSE 11, and found that the program was not actually freezing. It was just doing media analysis which was taking forever. I turned it off (Edit/Preferences/Media-Analysis and turn everything off) and no more problems.

BTW, I runs Win 10 with 4GB RAM without other problems, so don't worry about those who say you need lots more RAM. It will help if you have lots of open programs, but not if you just run one or two at a time.

I don't load anything into Elements. I load them to the Picture file. I then open them one at a time in Elements.

Are you allowing PSE14 to use enough of that free disk space or are you restricting it too much?

I had similar issues with my pse 14. I seemed to happen only after I installed the upgrade to acr 9.5 and pse 14.1. I did not have issues when reinstalling and not upgrading. 47 greyfox gave me a cure involving missing files and so far it has not crashed. See my post on May 1st and his solution is there. I installed the files he suggested after uninstalling and reinstalling PSE 14 and before I upgraded. Ran it for a while with no problems then upgraded. No guarantees but so far so good.

Me too! I've had that Organizer crash twice; I don't even open it any more!
