"Old" in Florida terms means 50 to 100 years or so. This is the cemetery in Christmas, Florida. This old tree is covered with "Spanish Moss", which is actually a bromeliad - not a moss. Shot with a Canon 70d with a Canon 10-22mm wide angle lens using in-camera HDR. Next time will need to try this with a tripod and a 3-shot HDR using a smaller aperture to get a greater DOF.

Nice. I love cemetaries. That looks like a nice pllace to rest awhile.

Ol' Frank Loc: Orlando,

I have been there a couple times. Some very old markers. We go to the Fort Christmas just down the road several time a year. I really like your picture of the tree.

Beautiful oak, cemeteries are great settings for photographic opportunities. Grave markers can contain a lot of area history and the landscape is generally beautiful especially the "Old" cemeteries.

Great shot Steve.

Thanks, Rick. Sadly these stones, though not so old by New England or European standards, have weathered pretty badly - many are very hard to decipher, which is too bad - they might tell some interesting stories.

Thanks - it I well maintained, and they even have benches to sit on. What more relaxing a place for a final rest than under the canopy of a big old tree?
