Hi everyone! As a new member I have a question: I'm looking for a camera strap that has what I call "quick release" snaps, clips, whatever, so that the strap can be disengaged from the camera easily. Most cameras (that I have had) have a strap that you thread into the slot and cinch tight, and it is there...period. I downsized a few months ago to a Canon G12 (but I have recently ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS5 also from Amazon) and have never put the strap on the Canon, thinking that there surely is some system of removing the strap when it is in the way. So far, I haven't found such an animal. Can any of you tell me if there is such a thing and where to get it? I am used to putting a leash on a hound at the end of the day in the field with a snap actually designed for a horse's harness, but those snaps are far too big for a camera.
Thanks for your input,

OPTECH straps are good quality, good price, and a modular system with quick snap releases..

Ok, I spent the last hour or so, comparing the two camera straps. One being the R7 Black Rapid, the other being the Carry Speed CS-Pro. While both are great, I have to go with the Carry Speed one. I like the way the plate fastens to the camera. It has extra mounting holes, so it can be mounted on a tripod or my Bush Hawk without having to remove the plate. The strap that goes over the shoulder is extremly wide and very comfy.
So on a rating of 1 - 10 I would give the R7 a 7. The Carry Speed a 10.
The "Chinafied Version?"
Photoman, you just made me spit my coffee!!
