I would like to know if anyone has upgraded from the 1DX to the new Canon 1DX Mark and if you think it is worth the cost.

I am waiting for a major firmware update for the 1 Dx. There are no major new features I need in the new version. Canon just re-seasoned the prime rib. Same great flavor, slightly new taste. BTW, is Pope AFB still across the street from Fort Bragg?

Worth the cost? The Mark II is cheaper than the original by quite a bit!

Has anybody even seen the mkll yet?
On paper, if you're a pro, I think it's definately worth the up-grade.
If you're not a pro, it's probably not worth owning either one. ;-)

Once production has ceased on the mkl, how many up-dates do you think there will be, big, small or otherwise?? Any up-dates will be for the mkll! ;-)

It is $500 less than the new Nikon and Canon is putting some sweet packages together for the new body.

Sadly, Pope AFB is being closed and the 440th Airlift Wing (twelve C130Hs) is being deactivated due to budget cuts. The move is being fought by North Carolina's Senators and Congressmen. No clue who is going to transport the 82nd Airborne when Pope is gone.

Sadly, it's the democrats that are closing all our bases. They closed 3 in my area alone. Many thousands of people lost their jobs.

PS - I just checked the B&H website and they are still taking preorders for them so I don't think they are out yet. Mostly, they have much improved 4k video and focus tracking, and they have a new memory card slot that takes the fastest memory made for cameras - 20% faster than the new memory the Nikon D5 uses. It has a longer lasting battery and a few more bells and whistles etc.

Several people already have them in their hands but it might be a little too early for real world comparison.

This information was derived from users on Canon Rumors btw.

Sorry Jeep-Daddy, the democrats had equal billing in closings. A bi-partisan committee known as BRAC made the decisions. Base Reductions and Closings stepped on a lot of toes in many communities with their unilateral closings and cut-backs. Their decisions were not debatable, something that really steamed members of Congress who were living on pork projects. Liberals wanted to down-size the military complex and give the money to social programs. Someday there might be a social program called "Protect us!".
