does anyone use a lens baby, for macro? Using on a full frame Nikon. If so which one, and do you like it, or is it a waste of money?

Are you speaking about the macro converter?http://lensbaby.com/product/refurbished-macro-converters/

I have a couple of Raynox easy on and off lenses, a 150 and a 250. I have not used them on anything but a macro lens. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/275182-REG/Raynox_DCR_250_DCR_250_2_5x_Super_Macro.html

The Raynox macro lenses have high quality optics. When you add one of those to a macro lens, the depth of focus can be thinner than a dime. You can get tiny insects to fill the entire frame at times.

Yes, if the filter thread dimension falls within the 52-67mm.

As stated at the linked site "The lens includes a Snap-on universal mount suitable for 52mm to 67mm filter sizes".

So, if the lens (any lens) has threads for a filter in the size range of 52mm to 67mm and anything in between, it will fit directly. I have seen where some folks had used stepdown rings but cannot comment on how well that works.

I have a composer pro so I bought used macro rings which can be used with the composer. Kathleen Clemons uses them. They inexpensive list for $50, but search for the at KEH.

I saw a demonstration of Lens Baby lenses, they seemed to do a type of Vignetting except not with a dark or light tone but with blur, and you can manipulate it with shapes sort of. I did not see anything I was interested in but I was not into bokeh at the time. you already have a problem in macro with just the area centered on with the viewing cursor being sharp, and a quick drop off around it, very little depth of field. The Lens Baby would seem to accentuate that further, I would think. I am trying to figure out how to focus stack, which is the opposite direction. The Lens Baby lenses I saw weren't cheap either. They do make some interesting effects, it depends on your personal preferences if you like that sort of thing.

Don't you get vignetting if attached to a larger mm lens?

I use the lensbaby composer pro 50 mm with the macro adapters on my Nikon D750. I am very happy with the results. Here are a few images taken at the New York Botanical Gardens in March.

Don't you need to remove the optic and replace with the macro tubes.

Yes, you remove the optic, then put the macro adapters in. I do use both adapters, the 8 mm and the 16 .
