It was a lovely day and so me and my wife decided on a walk to upper Teesdale, on the way we popped in to an ancient hostelry the "High force Hotel" for a cold drink and then down a steep path to England's Highest waterfall ..'High Force'. Then back along the river banks. The photo with a deep "cut" in the hills is an old industrial workings called Coldberry Gutter, where at one time they flushed the sides with water (an old reservoir sits to one side) to reveal various minerals. The interior shot was taken in the bar of the hotel, where they had erected a gate and a signpost ..very topical.

I was at a boy scout camp in your neck of the woods - Raby Castle - when Apollo 11 landed on the moon! Been to High Force several times, but never with a camera unfortunately... Nice shots!

Beautiful set of photos Doddy, I was up in Barnard Castle in March for a week and visited both High Force and Low Force. It's certainly a lovely part of the country.
Doddy, Thanks for sharing your Teesdale adventure. Outstanding capture. Wish I could have joined you
