I think a cat's paw is truly a thing of beauty and wonder. Well captured and nicely processed, in a way that is consistent with the texture of the subject. I am sure its owner will be proud.
A portrait oriented crop would work as well.

Played with all sorts of crops and very nearly went portrait style. Great minds huh.
