Just wondering if any of you have taken them out of the box yet. Waiting 'till after Passover before mine arrives. :)
Yes I have, great camera, I have taken 240 shots with it, takes a lot more learning to get the menu set up right, still reading the manual.

Reading the manual is the last thing I do with a new camera, unless its a totally different brand.
With that many shots you must certainly have first impressions...please share them with us.
"Where are all of you folks with the new D500"
More than likely not here because they're out using it.
Yep, I've been using mine in the Everglades since I got it on Friday. I really like it. I pair it with the new 300 mm f4. The lens is short and light and the auto focus on the camera makes for a great BIF setup.
Had mine for two days. The AF is amazing.
We're in the Keys on vacation, and I'm mostly shooting from a Kayak, so I'm shooting with my OM-D E-M1 strapped to the deck in front of the cockpit, which can--and did--withstand a few errant splashes, so I haven't shot a whole lot with the D500. Don't want to take chances with it, especially before I know for sure I'm going to keep it.
Mostly pelicans off the dock at our rental home, and I'm trying to figure out the various focus modes.
Big thumbs up so far, though.
These are not my best shots, but they are the first I took with the D500 last Tuesday. This camera takes some getting used to, but is one of my favorites so far. I am hoping to do some low light photography with the D500 and testing out the ISO, however my friend has taken it up to ISO 51,200 with some amazing night shots without noise (or very little).
