No and I don't think I want to. There is already enough remote control stuff. I like to cook the old fashioned way.

The old fashioned cooking bags my wife uses work just fine.
Put in the meat, vegetables, flavorings and spices, cook in oven. Take out when done and everything is nice and tender and tasty!
Don't need some fancy electronic doodad to cook a delicious meal.

will

From the review (http://www.slashgear.com/anova-precision-cooker-wifi-review-17419024/), I don't think I want one. Just another gadget to complicate my life.

Thanks, but...

"404 Error - Something Broke?"

I found a review here. I suppose the price will come down as they get more popular. Restaurants have been using this technique for decades.

Personally I don't like anything cooked in a plastic bag.

What a bunch of curmudgeons! If you never tried something new you would still be sticking your head under a blanket and holding the shutter by hand to get a shot from your box camera.

I have a Sous Vide cooker and I can tell you that I can cook the worst cut of beef roast and make it taste better than prime rib and just as tender.

My son got one recently and loves it. He says he hasn't over or under cooked anything with it. He's bringing it home when he comes for us to try. Looking forward to trying it.

Whoa! And I thought I was high class with my new induction stove! Sounds good, although, I'm not really a big fan of cooking in plastic after reading all the articles about the carcinogens that most plastics give off when heated. It would have to say clearly on the package that the bags were safe for heating food.

Actually cooking. or even just reheating, anything is any kind of pastic is a bad idea. All kinds of toxic chemicals are released from plastic when it is heated.

I wonder how the cost of electricity would compare with an electric stove. The sous vide runs for hours.

I cook a roast at only 135F for 20 hours. So the high heat that will release the chemicals is not used. Not saying that plastic is good, but in this case, I take a little chance. And it is not as bad as having Roundup in the rest of my food.
