Lightroom Raw Landscape Example

I was going through Lightroom examples in youtube and I came across a landscape edit that is a great example of how much can be done with a raw image. I was looking specifically for landscape examples because I'm heading for Yellowstone in a few weeks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-PavR3Y0ng

What I like is that the guy shows the out of the camera shot, and then the amazing finished edit. Then he goes through the History of his edits and explains the things he did to get to the finished product.

I'm amazed sometimes what I can recover in a poorly exposed image...Lightroom Presets make it so easy too.

Well, what I got from the presentation was not only just the power of Lightroom and ease of use, but also the power hidden inside a RAW image. I have tried to salvage a jpg that was better exposed than the example and had little improvement, but with the RAW image, there was so much that was available to fix and create a "keeper".

Les, Thanks for the links to the demo. I'm watching my mail box waiting foe Lightroom to arrive. I have been using Aperture and Nix Filters for a couple of years. Lightroom has lowered their price, making it irresistible to me.

In case someone did not know "Aperture" is a Mac program that does a lot of what Lightroom does. Both programs have their advantages and fans. I intend to use both to find out which I like best.

I have Lightroom 3 but hope to upgrade to Lightroom 4 soon. I know the adjustments are a little more photographer-centric, so I am looking forward to that.

Glad you liked the video.
