Bunny-Jean, the clouds wouldn't dare cast a
shadow on you OR your moon.

I hope the rain missed you tonight, Jadeast. We had a nice night here in Huntsville, Tennessee. Maybe just a touch of haze. I made this one just a little after 8:15 pm. Nothing to brag about. The full moon always looks too flat. Had to tweek this one a little with Photoshop and it sure shows.

Burton! I never got a glimpse of the moon last night but yours looks pretty good! Might I suggest that you underexpose a few shots and then tweak the best in whatever software you use and see if you don't get better results. Start with - 1/3 and work up to - 2. you'll find out what works best for your camera

Thanks, J D. I just happen to have a couple of "lesser exposed" photos from that series. We'll see.
Thanks again.

Well, I was kept in the dark last night(and will be tonight), oh mother nature........!
I'd like to repeat what I had read in other "Ugly Hedgehog" forums. You might get a ?better? shot by taking the picture a day or two before/after the full moon, since craters on the moon would start showing shadows (3D) in your pictures. I'm not saying that the posted was bad in any way! I loved it! Try to get the shadows in the next few nights.
The shot you posted was.....oh, about 150 times better than what my camera will do (Nikon 950E), but I'm still going to try and see what this older 'bridge-camera' can do.
