The attached photo is what published today in the local newspaper about my setup of super long lens. It works well for me. Just share here. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What brand is the camera support? I haven't seen that one before (I'm familiar with the Hoage, but that doesn't look like it).

Where did you get it? B&H reports it as discontinued.

Samys, Adorama. Holga Camera (Hong Kong) has it listed for $109.

Or look at the Haoge Telephoto Lens Support Bracket ($80 at Amazon).

Although I buy almost of camera gears from B&H or Adorama, I got this this particular accessory from Benro China directly via my friend in China. The cost is about USD$100. The cost is about or over $200 if you can get from BenroUSA or Amazon.com.

Thanks!

Thanks guys, just ordered from Holga. It looks like the perfect setup for my 600 f:4.

Manfrotto makes a piece similar to this. They list it as "Telephoto Lens Support" that replaced 3420 support bracket. It extends to a 9" span.

Kirkphoto.com makes support brackets for some specific lenses, too.

Check Wimberley (tripodhead.com), Really Right Stuff (RRS) and Hejnar Photo, too.

You have the right idea, but you can not shoot vertical orientation with this - as far as I know.

Here is the RRS support - http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/Lens-Support-Pkg-dual-Quick-Release - where you can shoot verticals.

And, here is a much cheaper version - http://www.ebay.com/itm/251625082172?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Thanks for the info. I wonder what those black rollers will do to a white lens over time.

Saw the article in the HT, great pictures, I have lens envy after seeing your set up. Biggest lens in my current set up is a 300.

I don't like the idea of using blocks for supporting the lens, there are adjustable (height) supports available that allow the lens to turn and not mark the lens (that's what I would use and I use them on some of my heavier lenses)!

Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for different setups to reduce the vibration on longer lenses.
