Can't speak for the wider audience, but I'm a fan! I like subtle color (you'd never know it, but I do, lol!) and serenity in a landscape. There's a lot to investigate with this one, from the flowers to the sky. All relaxing and undemanding, no single feature overwhelming the viewer.

A very nice image, Linda.

PS: Not all my favorite movies have explosions or mayhem in them, either, lol!

Thank you, Randy! I thought I remembered one or two gentler works in your Maine collection :)

Do you follow Geoff,"GWR100" 's images? He does many that are similar in that the subject is the scene, the way the light hits only certain areas and the rest of the scene is subtle/ muted yet gives it emotion. You cannot help but feel that you are a part of the scene, that you have ventured into an unknown territory and call it "yours". My preference of the is your first. I like the shadowed foreground as it gives contrast to the pop of light. Its golden!

Thank you so much, Carla! You have a writing voice as eloquent as your images and your comments are always a special gift.

I have been a fan of Geoff's for years. He hasn't been on UHH in a month, though - hope all is OK in his world.

He did post several in March so I thought he was current but I cannot believe we are in the last week of April now. How'd that happen! January certainly did not fly by like this!

Thank you, R.G. I haven't tried to lift any shadows as I liked the pop of yellow in the dark. (edit - see below)

I'm interested in starting a discussion topic on "attention-grabbing" vs. understated, so this is a preview :)

I appreciate your time very much!

Shot for the light, processed for a serene mood. Is there an audience for understated and gentle moments in nature such as this?

"Is there an audience?"
You bet! When viewing images, the ones I am drawn to first are always because of the light. And, serenity is much preferred to the overly busy

Thanks so much for your comments, Rich. Quiet reflection in the hectic modern world? A moment to catch one's breath?

Yes in answer to your question Linda. A well done scene with much discussion about it. I would ask you do a horizontal flip stay away for a bit come back and take a look with fresh eyes. I can't explain it but for me the light and shadows have more impact.

I can already see, because the trail leads from left to right, the way I usually like my eyes to travel. Thanks so much, Frank!
