Baby time at the wetlands

Yesterday was a babyfest at the Viera Wetlands. The baby limpkins were well concealed in the reeds but the parents were vigorously patrolling nearby, running off other birds and angry at people.
One baby limpkin ran out from cover for a second.
Mama limpkin patrolling around her little ones.

This is an awesome set Steve!!! I love the Raccoons. I have yet to get a good shot of the ones that come up to the bird feeders.

Thanks, Gary - it is a wonderful place, and my wife and I go for the exercise as much as anything. But I find exercise boring and tedious - but walking at a fast pace for an hour or so - stopping to take photos along the way - now THAT is the kind of exercise I enjoy! Yesterday was pretty rewarding for sure!

Thanks, Erv - I was surprised that it came out as good as it did (although a touch out of focus) because he was running into the cattails and just happened to stop long enough for a quick look at me - and for me to get his photo!
