Had he not done the whole "New York Values" thing he may have won many areas in upstate NY and his campaign would be in pretty good shape, but we will never know. Lessons learned: you are running for President of the United States, not President of just some people. Trump (who I do not support) knew this going into the campaign and used a message that appealed to a wide spectrum of people. Obviously he is a much better strategist then many gave him credit for, including me.
