SOLD :::Bower 67mm Infrared Filter

SOLD - - I bought this filter because I enjoy seeing infrared photography. I didn't know that my camera had to be equipped with an infrared sensor and/or other modifications. Well, I took 5 photos outdoors and realized quickly that the filter did not do what I thought it would. It's yours for $20 (Paypal or money order) and $3.20 shipping to USA only. Let me know if you have any questions.

Just out of curiosity, what's the filter's cutoff, expressed in nm?

I can't find that on the container. I will look on a retailer's site.

Perhaps it wasn't explained to you that you have to reset your WB to green grass, prefocus, and set your exposure before screwing on the lens. Hint: Use a high aperture and a slow shutter speed.

Really!? I'll have to make a note of that if I ever get one. My reason to get one is if I do convert one of my cameras to visible & IR spectrum (NOT UV).

There are several good books on IR. When I converted my Sony a7 I had Lifepixel due the conversion. They're the best and I had full spectrum done.

Newer cameras sensors are less sensitive to IR light & as such, require greater exposure times. I used to use a Hoya R 72 IR pass filter (729nm) on my Nikon D70s for IR shots. After shooting, I still had to swap the red & blue channels in PS in order to get the IR effects. Thing was though, my camera could still auto focus with the filter on & the shutter speeds were not that long. The D70s had a CCD sensor, not a CMOS sensor though. Haven't tried using the filter on either any of my current cameras though. Oh, yes, you still needed a custom WB taken from grass for best results.
