Lightroom CC 2015 Malfunctioning on Mac

All of a sudden, my Lightroom program went dark grey in the toolbar, and it will not open my catalog. I then tried Force Quitting, and my Mac won't respond. I then restarted Mac and uninstalled and re-installed Lightroom CC. I received a message that "Permissions Need to be Repaired" when I opened the program. I followed all the various steps, but still nothing. I've now uninstalled and reinstalled three times. While it is grayed out in the toolbar, I can navigate along the toolbar, and things seem to be normal, even being able to see other catalogs. But all menus stay gray, and I cannot open any files. Photoshop CC and Bridge continue to work perfectly. ??

Contact Adobe, sounds like they show you haven't paid your bill.

I feel sorry for people who feel it necessary to make disparaging, negative comments instead of constructive, helpful ones. If you know anything about Adobe CC subscriptions you would know that Photoshop and/or Bridge CC would not have been working if there was a problem with my bill. Or perhaps you were so anxious to make a wisecrack, you didn't read my full post.

FYI, I did receive some helpful PMs from a fellow UHH member, and I was able to finally determine that there was a problem with Mac's OS getting hung up preventing me from closing LR. "Force Quit" was not functioning. Stumbling upon a work-around, I was able to quit LR, uninstall and re-install. LR is now back to normal.

That's not what I meant. There's a possibility that their computes may have mistakenly flagged your software as not paid. That's why I suggested you contact Adobe. I've actually had this happen to me with some commercial software.

A couple of things here, permissions might need to be repaired depending on if your photos/catalog are on an external drive. There is a procedure for doing this depending on the drive or issue you are having. You would need to be more specific here.

Force quitting any program is never a good idea, especially one with a database. It prevents the program from cleaning up after itself. Record locks or worse DB locks can remain in place preventing you from re-opening the program. It can manifest as a corrupt database, or just a database in use error.

How did you determine MAC OS hung up, and what does this mean? Does this mean you had a rogue process? There are some great troubleshooting apps on the MAC, but you have to know how to use them.
