Friday night I went to an outdoor concert and took a bunch of pictures of the bands. I posted them on Facebook and tagged them with the event. I was just contacted by the mother of one of the singers about buying the full resolution photos for use in promotion. I have no idea how to price them or even how to go about finding what a fair price would be. Members, any suggestions about how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
How many images does she want to buy for promotion. I would start at $250 an image. You can always come down. You need to figure out what you feel your time and expertise is worth. Don't sell yourself short.

I don't care what you charge as long as you get a photo credit hash tag.

Place a small unobtrusive watermark on your photos, ask for photo credist, and give them freely this time around. Should you be asked for more, only then charge a fee at a rate that would make the endeavor worth your effort ~ which might be a fee that is comfortable and rewarding for you.

I disagree with giving them for free. They will be using them to promote the band, does the band play for free?
When people freely give photos, especially for promotion, it decreases the value of all the time, work and expense that photographers have put into their art.
While I do volunteer for several health care organizations, I do not give my work for free to others.
Just my opinion!

$250 per photo might be a little steep, but free is ridiculous. How many images of the band are we talking about?

Absolutely do not give them away, it will only diminish the value of what you do.

Another thought -- If you took them for fun, give them this time, but in exchange for entry and prime shooting location at their next concert. Do your absolute best on that set, and sell those at a reasonable price. As noted, watermarked and with contact info. When the word gets around, it might turn into a fun part time gig if you get on the inside track.

   I would not automatically assume the band will be back here again, or still going to be around or together etc. Don' give away anything.
I think you should charge a reasonable price. The price of $250 may be high, but maybe not. If they want several, I would give them a discount, or their choice of a smaller one, as a bonus. Can we see one of the photos. It is hard to put a price on something without seeing it.

Respectfully, If you were to direct your attention to the OP and his original query, you might remind yourself that he stated that he had already posted the photos on Facebook and then after the mother of one of the performers had asked him for a complete set of the photos, he says that he doesn't know what to charge for them.. In other words, he was not trying to promote anything !
Then, when taking the aforementioned into consideration, how can you, keeping a serious look on your face, suggest to any of us that he is a photographer ? It sounds to me that he is just a nice guy who attended a night club performance and he had taken a camera with him to get a few shots for his own pleasure and for posting on Facebook. He had no idea that a mother of one of the band members was going to contact him wanting a set of his photos. AND, what does your alleged volunteer work for healthcare organizations have to do with our OP's query in the first place and if you will try to remain focused upon the OP and his question, you might want to get it into your head that he was asking for ideas about what to charge the mother for his photographs ~ not read your autobiography!
What I am trying to get you to understand is that you have failed to address the OP's question by your being more interested in challenging me !

Okay here's a couple of the photos. They were taken with a 70D @ISO6400 so they was a lot of noise. In cleaning up the noise and with the lighting it gave some of them an interesting soft dreamy look in my opinion. The technical quality of the photos is one of the things that makes it hard for me to decide on a price. As you can see from the second photo I actually had great access, this was take of her entering the stage. Oh, the singer is Reagan James, who was a finalist on the Voice a couple of years back and has a couple of CDs out already. LOL she has another concert scheduled locally and I was already thinking about asking for another chance at getting close to shoot..
