This type of work is not difficult, it can be done easily (I use a Mac, not sure if it makes a difference) without special software. The question is what will be the source of your images, the woodies or whatever. Obtaining them is not a problem; you can snatch them from just about anywhere. Obtaining PERMISSION to use them, however, is not so easy. You could find yourself in a very large and/or expensive copyright predicament.

In so far as the posted image is concerned, it is not an outstanding example of collage work. The person who created it has had examples of his work winning competitions and one of latter ones sold for $500. Like all areas of art there are those who praise and those who disdain. For art I suffer the equivalent of musics 'tin ear.'
