Pollen colours...

Never really thought about it before but have you noticed how bees harvesting different flowers gather different coloured pollen...notice the big difference with these two bees...I imagine this is the reason we get different coloured honey... :?:

Ron, these are fantastic shots, and no, I'd never thought about bees collecting different color pollen. I just assumed it all turned orange when it stuck to their legs, but I see it doesn't.

Thank you Donna...the one with the light coloured pollen I took yesterday morning...when I added it to my Bee folder I noticed it for the first time myself...

Super sharp bee shots, Ron and I enjoyed them very much, but I never gave any thought to the different color honey theory... maybe they just play on different teams!!

Your shots are terrific as usual! and yes Ron they do come in colors. Well they have to as so many plants have different colored pollen. You should have seen the bee I saw at the flower garden department at Walmart. The pollen as most know is dark reddish brown, he was loaded with it and it makes for a very bad stain should you get it on your clothes.
