I couldn't afford the 16-270 (well could have but didn't want to spend the money - it's the penny pincher in me. LoL) This lens was half the price because it was, as you said, superseded. I knew that but it didn't bother me as I reckon 18-270 is not much different to 16-270 as far as a walk around lens goes. I don't think there is anything wrong with the lens mate. I am sure it's me.
