I thank you very much, Sylvia, for your good reply. You must be having cherry blossoms in England now?

The early ones are just starting to show some colour, but we have had winds, rain, hailstones and some snow! The poor trees and plants are not quite sure what to do. :(

Spring is having a hard time arriving here in Michigan; right now there's snow on the ground. Thanks for sharing these beautiful images of spring, Regis. The blossoms are lovely and the yellow jackets so real I can hear them buzzing. :-)

Well, we had a little snow only a week ago, but the temperature stayed above freezing. Now we are between 75-80 degrees. I hope it lasts here in north Idaho. The yellow jackets here are pests, but you learn to live with them. No choice.
Thank you very much, Annie-Get-Your-Gun.

Great shots Regis. Have you tried your Tammy 150-600 with this camera. Curious to see how good it would be....Rich

I have tried my Tamron 150-600 with my new camera and have posted some of those shots when I was shooting the Bald Eagles back in December and January and they were great. I remember you telling me you couldn't tell the difference between those shots and the Canon 100-400 II photos.
Thank you very much, Rich.

Very nice Regis, especially #2. I think the last time I got stung by one of these guys it seemed about this size, actual size...LOL, well maybe I wasn't into laughing at the moment!! John

Last year my wife had to go to urgent care from a yellow jacket sting. That's why I use my Canon 100-400 II lens to get a close but safe shot of the yellow jackets. I don't want to get too close and get stung because I am highly allergic to yellow jackets and bee stings. Hornets, wasps and yellow jackets are related and they all have stingers. North Idaho has a large population of yellow jackets, but we do not have any poisonous snakes or black widow spiders, so we are lucky in that respect.
Thank you very much, JBruce.

Thank you very much, imagemeister. For me, this is a good lens to capture insect close-ups without getting stung or scaring them away as a macro lens might do. I am allergic to yellow jackets and bee stings, so I prefer not to get too close to them. So, you are right about using the Canon 100-400 II lens for these occasions.

Wonderfully clear shots Regis ... I'm seriously allergic to Yellow Jacket stings but still find them fascinating creatures especially with the detail and clarity of your photos.
