Hi all. This is my first time posting so go easy on me.
ubject: Lens Mount Adapter

I have a 0.43x Super Wide Angle (with Macro) High Definition Lens that was originally purchased 2 years ago for a Canon SX50. I have since purchased a Nikon d7200. I am looking to buy a Nikon Mount Adapter for this lens. Is that possible and if so could you please direct me to the correct product. I hate to see this nice lens go to waste. Thanks for any help.

If I understand correctly, the lens you describe screwed onto the front of the SX50 lens. If that is the case, I don't believe you can adapt it directly to the Nikon body if that is what you are asking.

What you have is caalled an auxiliary lens. It can mount on the front of a lens and make the view wider, but it cannot form an image by itself.

Welcome to UHH.

Based on your description you seem to be talking about a FILTER type lens to counteract the 1.5 crop factor on a DX camera. The adapter is really a filter step up or down ring, depending on the size of the filter threads and the lens screw threads....

Basically you do not want to use a step down ring from lens to filter as that will add vignetting, so you want to use a step up ring - as long as your lens filter threads are smaller than your filter threads you are OK and can add the step up adapter...

First determine the lens filter threads, then determine the filter/0.43 thread size and then buy the appropriate step down rings for the filter....

BTW - I have used the 0.43 wide angle filter/lens on my Nikon - it will not help out very much any all because it will add vignetting at the widest angle, so you cannot get more out of the lens.

Sell the 0.43X and put the proceeds toward buying an actual wide angle lens for you D7200.... Your image quality will be much better than trying to use the auxiliary lens on top of your existing lens for the D7200.

The SX50 uses 67 mm filters so you would need a step down adapter ring, if the lens that you are using on your D7200 needs smaller filters.

If the lens on the D7200 takes a smaller filter, the OP needs a step-up ring, not a step-down ring.
