Okay, everyone thanks for the replies.
I noticed on the bottom of my Nikon D750 where the serial number is located it says, Nikon Corp Japan. then below that it says made in Thailand serial 2032613, does this mean i have a grey market camera. I checked the serial number to see if it needed upgrade on nikon's recall list and it said no. It seems the more i read the more confused I get. lol

Nikon builds many of their cameras in Thailand. My D610 has the same origin. No worries!

Run as fast as you can away from them. Buy from B&H, Adorama, Amazon.

Has anyone had a bad experience with this dealer?
I have previously bought a camera and couple lenses from them and have been pleased. Then lately I have heard rumblings of a bad experience, from an unknown source. Gas, or fact is hard to know, except for word of mouth from an actual customer.
Thanks for any replies be they negative or positive.

This is an old subject. You are one of the few who have had good experiences. I purchased a Canon camcorder from them, the salesman tried to upsell me. After the deal was done, I got a call from him two days later saying that it was ready to ship, but he noticed that I didn't purchase an sdcard and it needed a special, fancy sdcard which he'd give me a special deal on, for just $120. I declined, then checked with Canon. They said that no, any good 32gb card would be fine.

You only get one shot at ripping me off.

Thanks for the nice replies and the grouchy ones also.

Apparently I am the only humane on the face of the earth who had a pleasant experience dealing with 42nd Photo.
When I placed my order it was handled professionally and with courtesy. They answered all my questions and sold me what I wanted to buy without a hint of trying to up sale me.
I assure you this is not a plug nor a paid service announcement for them. Just the facts as they happened.

Also my warranty is covered by Nikon here in the good ole us of a even tho as with most of America's manufacturing now being done abroad. Built in Thailand is fine by me. They are a extremely smart peoples unlike me who apparently does not know how to operate a computer nor read a warranty card.

Again thanks UHHers. (most of you anyways)

In parting to the ones I po'd aint you just the nicest things.
Hank

Thanks for the nice replies and the grouchy ones a... (show quote)

Don't be to upset, Hank. They do it all the time. They could just ignore the post and move on. But when they suggest other links, it's because there's more info there.
Have no experience with the oufit in NY, I just buy local, then Amazon/BHP/Adorama.
Great camera, have a good time
:-)

Why are you asking since you have had good luck with them?

I was concerned with the statement about warranty and did not think to talk with Nikon till after I asked. Also because I am shopping for a 200-500mm lens for the birdies. 42 had it about a buck fifty cheaper. Had read a couple complaints and knowing how folks jump on the band wagon I was asking folk who had an actual experience with them. Basicly just wondering if I was lucky the first time around and wanted reassurance one way or the other before trying them again. I had mostly used Amazon or B&H before.
Now that I am retired money in my pocket is better than money in others. lol
Concensus is I shop elsewhere even tho my experience with them was positive.

You get the $150.00 discount because that lens will be a gray market and you will not get a USA Nikon 5 year warranty on it. You will get an international warranty, it can be serviced but only from the country it was shipped to the US from. If that doesn't bother you, buy it. But, do this, call them and tell them you want the Nikon USA warranty, I bet you they will say they can do it BUT it will cost you a $150.00. It is all up to you.

I think the negative comments that I heard are justifiable. Low price means grey market products and all the problems that creates. I am sure there are other reputable vendors but I have been very pleased with both Adorama and B&H. Great service from both and got some good advice from B&H
