Any advice about visiting this location for astrophotographers? Best time of year, must have equipment, lens, food, etc.

Thanks y'all

Wide angle, very fast lens and any night where the moon is invisible from the earth. Commonly known as the "New Moon" Phase.

Chaco Canyon Indian ruins has water and electricity. You will need to bring your own food. The road leading in is unpaved and has long stretches of washboard surface.
The ruins are spectacular. The sky is still one of the darkest. Enjoy.

We drove in from the south. I'm told the road coming in from the north is in better condition; however, both are quite usable.

Be sure to watch for wildlife and photo opportunities on the drive in.

The ruins are indeed spectacular!
