They look pretty darn good to me. The harshness of the lighting bothers me more than the shallow D of F. Soft lighting and soft focus could have complimented one another. But obviously you had no control of the sun or clouds that day. Not every image needs to be tack sharp. Note, Impressionist painting! They are cute!

Terrific photos, Sylvia. I saw my first great blue heron family feud last summer. The nest started with 3 chicks, but one was probably pushed off. The remaining two were incredibly aggressive regarding food. I have no idea why more eyes aren't poked out!

And I did get a smile from these, Sylvis!!
Love the first one, especially with the bird photo bomber in the back and who can not smile when they see a mum with here babies!! Beautifuful!
