Yongnuo are now owned by Canon.They paid 700 million US for the company.We use Yongnuo flash guns and are more than happy with them.

Could you point me to that article please. That would be big news and there isn't an news clip anywhere stating such.

Yes, it is true, Canon purchased Yongnuo to prevent them from counterfeiting Canon products, thus damaging the brand and it's reputation. The purchase was made one year ago this month. 2015.
