Icelandic Horses on a Snowy Morning

The horses were very happy to come over and greet us on this snowy morning on the way to Husavik. I have shot my D300 and D800 in snow storms, unprotected, and have never had an issue. The cameras get so cold that the snow doesn't melt on contact and I can just shake or blow it off before putting it back in an insulated bag which keeps it cold in the 4x4 until the next stop.

Great Capture Joe. I think also they were looking for a Apple. Glad your D300 and D800 stood up to the conditions.

Thanks, I think you were right about the apple but I was able to pull off the tops of some grasses growing on my side of the wire and they seemed to be happy with it.

Yes, no matter what the weather conditions, the horses are in the fields.

Hey Joe,

Super equine shots!!

Where I live the camera might survive but in the middle of winter here YOU might turn into a popsicle if you stay out too long!

Ed.

Thanks, Ed. I don't know how you address this but I had a difficult time keeping my hands warm. I might try heated gloves my next trip.
