My Canon 80D came in today and I used my burgundy truck to go pick it up from the camera store. It came with the new EF-S 18-135 IS STM lens.
For the initial outing, we are headed to the big orchid show at the Greater Philadelphia expo center.

Canon 80D is an impressive 24 megapixels APS-C sensor camera. Read the DP Review on it. Paired with the 18-135mm lens, this may be better than Nikon's D7200 with the 18-140mm lens.80D has more bells and whistles.

No way better than the D7200. You have to go full frame to beat that camera's resolution. DPReview even states it's no match for the D7200 in terms of RAW dynamic range. Don't take my word for it look below. Stop conveying inaccurate information. If you don't know what you are talking about, shut up.

The DP link I read was different than yours. It just mentioned that the closest competitor was the Nikon D7200. Yours stated otherwise. Still a DP Review. I also said it may be better than a D7200. Never did I say it is better than a D7200. By the way I don't own any Canon cameras, but I do own a Nikon.

Parsing words. Your conclusion and statement that it "may be" better is not even supported by the site you provided. Your information and post are thus misleading. Everyone likes new toys. However, in the enthusiasm to report on emerging technology, one should avoid inaccurate and misleading information. Hyperbole often creates unrealistic expectations. Do what you feel is right. Everyone else on this site does, even when they are wrong.

Why my new Canon 80D is better than a Nikon D7200.
Quite frankly, it isn't; it's different but not better because as a tool, they essential do the same thing.
The 80D is better for me than a D7200 because I already own every XXD series camera Canon has manufacturer so I'm real familiar with how it works. Add that to the 5Dsr, 6D and 7DII that I own and it's easy to figure I probably have a whole lot of lenses that will work on the 80D but not a one that will work on a D7200.
Does Canon make better cameras than Nikon or Nikon better than Canon?! Don't know, don't care! It's not so much who has the better tools but who can use the tools better.
