There's a good series of articles going on over at FStoppers about the Real vs The Beautiful, and what makes a photograph "real" anyway. Something I run into all the time at art shows. I should print the articles and hang them in my booth.
Thanks for posting. Excellent article and of course the usual quarrelsome individuals who feel they have to denigrate the photographs they couldn't begin to produce.
Interesting articles. What always gets me is why people argue about it so much.
I take pictures and post process them to get them to look like what was in front of me. Others take pictures with the intention of producing an end result that may not exist in reality.
I see images in both categories that I love. I see others in both categories that I pray that the artist will get some training. ;)
But, everybody does their own thing, and that's the way it should be. My only objection is when post processing is used to intentionally deceive.
