Senior Pictures

Was snapping pictures for 3 seniors yesterday, was a fun day. Another learning experience.

I remembered to have this girl take off her glasses as I was using a bit of flash. Notice the light reflection on the glasses and that was after pulling out the high lights.

But ........... when she took off her glasses hair was pulled out toward her eyes. In this case I removed much of the hair but in the future I'll really look over the face to make sure things like hair are in their proper place.

Haven't played with the facial cleanup yet but frankly it isn't bad the way it is.

So remember nubs like me ........ look at that face ;-)

Jerry,
I think if you can get the exposure pretty much dead on, you should be able to layer the "without glasses" shot under the "with glasses shot" and then use a layer mask and remove the glass (as it were)

I've done it a few times, and so far, nobody has ever caught my "trickery"

As it is, the skin is already beautiful, and I wouldn't (personally) mess with it. If you do anything to perfect skin, it just pushes it into the "unrealistic" category. You may want to go in and get rid of some of the tiny hairs on her forehead, but that is really nit picky.

All in all, I think they are both very nice looking images. I usually do everything I can to keep the glasses, if it is someone who normally wears them every day. If they "sometimes" wear contacts, then I might go with the shots with no glasses.

In my opinion (since I've worn glasses since kindergarten), glasses are as much a part of my face, as the mole on Marilyn Monroe's face. (and I'm darn near as good looking..HA HA)

I use a reflector instead of a flash for fill. Then I can see reflections with glasses and adjust the subject or light so their is none. - Dave

You bring up an easily overlooked point Jerry, but IMO is the glare from glasses bothers you go with the second. I don't find the hair distracting.
But that's just me.
