Try this: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-110-1.html

If you click on "Home" at the top of the page then scroll down and click on "All Sections" you will find all the forum sections on UHH.

There are two that I follow. The one here at UHH is so inactive it has little use.

The first one is primarily a camera discussion. I've participated for about 5 years and used what I've learned to buy a couple cameras: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/161-camcorders/

The second is more general. Participants can get off topic or a little acidic frequently! It is still useful.

I've not found any that focus on video creation or editing. I would like to!

Take a look at this one, The Creative Cow. A very comprehensive technical video forum. It covers every aspect of video creation and video and sound editing.

There just isn't enough people interested in videography and video editing on UHH to support our own video section with more than sporadic posts.

That's not the whole problem. If you start a post in a forum like "Photo Gallery", it stays there. If you start a post with a video in it, it has to be a link to YouTube of Vimeo. By the rule of the UHH it will then have to be shuttled off to "Links and Resources".

So instead of a forum with some activity, it is so lackluster it draws not interest.

Bill,
I haven't seen any of the posts that have video links moved out of the video for dslr section.

In the past year only 28 topics were posted to in the section. The Main Photography section gets that many topics posted on in a day.

Also I don't believe more than 25 people posted to the video dslr section in the past year. Many main photography topics have that many posters on a single topic.

I still think it is mostly lack of posts and posters to the video section that has caused the section to appear lackluster. But any question or post to the section has been responded to by a number of those 25 or so posters.

Did you look at the Creative Cow Forums link? I think there are more than a hundred specific video forums on every topic, covering many types of cameras and editing equipment, computers, etc. And there are a bunch of very knowledgeable videographers, editors and computer people that post regularly.

Bob,

Memory is never perfect. But, I remember thinking it would be fun to try and get some activity going and started with one or two topics that included links to my example videos on Vimeo. It/they quickly disappeared to Links and Resources, so I didn't pursue the effort.

Even the title of the video forum is off the mark. "Video for DSLRs and P&S Cameras" eliminates primary sources of video including camcorders, mirrorless, smartphones, bridge and m4/3. The exciting progress in video going on now is not coming from Nikon 810s and Canon EOS 5Ds can't even consider 4K. And what we consider P&S cameras are disappearing because smartphones works so well.

Shorten the title to "Video".

Yes I did look at Creative Cow. There is a lot there.
