When is the best time to post a new topic? Or post equipment for sale? I don't know when the best time is. (i.e. eastern standard time)
Thanks

I don't think any one time is better or worse than any other time.

I commend you for having the courage to ask such a question, but in my limited experience as a member, I doubt any time makes a difference (and by the way, we're in Daylight Savings Time now.) Why? Because I think that many Hogs scour whatever sections at UHH they like on a regular basis, and probably do so by browsing the latest Topics list from the point when they last browsed all the way up to the present. Of course, I don't know this nor can I prove it at present time. Perhaps others will opine whether my hypothesis is on the right track or not?

P.S. What did you mean by "Eating a Topic"? Or was that a typo?

If you go to the Home page and scroll all the way to bottom, you can see a list of people who are currently online. I've never really tested this, but if you wait until there a good number of readers logged in, you'd probably stand a better chance than if there are only a few. Any new topic will be posted to the "Upcoming Topics" section and remain there until a newer topic is posted. As some folks only seem to read topics from the Digest, your best bet is to catch someone looking. I do notice that there seem to be a lot of people online early in the morning and later in the evening.

Good thoughts. What do you mean by "the Digest"?

Lev, I have no way of knowing if your hypnosis is real or not!
What I do know is that whenever I find a topic posted here that just really MOVES me in some way, I have that OP's Avatar tattooed on my back!!!
But I don't dare take my shirt off for fear of being sued for copyright infringement! There are SOOO many Hogs that fly into a rage when their work gets copied!
As far as the different food groups go....., my printer eats ink!!!
Did that answer your question?!?!

Depending on how many people are posting topics your post could quickly end up several pages back where far fewer members will see it. Keeping it on the front page, especially in the morning when many first check the site for the day, will increase your chances of selling, or of getting your post read. Anytime anyone posts to a topic it gets bumped up to the front of the line again. Even if you respond to an inane comment by someone it will bump your topic back to the front page.

I'm guessing that was supposed to be "Creating a Topic".

Huh? A response on one Topic causes a "bump" on the list of Newest Topics? That doesn't make any sense to me. Did I misconstrue you?

The list of newest topics is not really a list sorted by when the topics were created, but when the latest comment was added to a topic.

That's the way it works. Go back a dozen pages or so, post to an old topic, and see where it ends up. It will go to the front page.

OK, this is for REAL!
It's not about the time you post. If you post what the people want to read, they will read it! Post what they don't want to read, it will be on page 4 in an hour.
It's not about when., it's about what!!!!!! ;-)
