What struck me was the absence of any coloured faces...It would be very different if similar shots were taken today!!

Even though it was an Easter affaire, it is amazing to see how much pride people took in the way they dressed! This day and time casual would be the apparel of choice for such an event! This is true for all old photos, I guess people had more pride, something we've lost with time!

Queen Elizabeth's Monarch was only about 3 or 4 years old when this was photographed. Winston Churchill was still living. I bet you could find similar photos here in America. We took pride in wearing our Sunday best. Especially on Easter.

"56" I was 12. It was an entirely different world. Mickey Mantle and Duke Snyder were in center field. TV was still a novelty, Cars cost 2 grand. Milk was delivered to the front door every morning-cost 19 cents. After school we actually went outside to play. Duck and cover drills at school. Etc-etc-etc. It truly was an innocent time. Thanks for the memories.
