We were promised an inch to four inches of snow for today. We got 18 inches. Denver and the suburbs pretty much shut down, including the Interstates. My satellite TV went blank because this was a heavy, wet snow that stuck to everything, and the wind helped to make sure those flakes were hitting trees, roofs, and walls with force. I have a rabbit living under my front porch, and I saw that he dug his way out but then stuck to the side of the house, I have no idea who will shovel my driveway because the high school boy we planned to use happens to be in Prague this week on a school trip. (I hope he makes it back safely this weekend, what with the Paris and Brussels attacks!)
Meanwhile, back at Lavonne's Hog Challenge... Here's a shot that reminds us of how much we have to be thankful for. I titled this, "Easter Parade." It was taken in the German financial center of Frankfurt am Main on Easter, 1948, three years after the Nazi surrender. In the background is the bombed out ruin of the Dom, Frankfurt's cathedral (since rebuilt).
An Easter Parade to pray for a rebirth of peace - 1948

Easter, let's see here. We usuallyspend Easter in a place called Rimouski which is 3 hours east of Québec City and their Easter dinner is celebrated n quite a different way.....Snow crabs! This year the season opened up the day before yesterday but we will not be there as we are celebrating a few things here.

OOOh, a crab dinner!!!! Haven't had any crab for a couple of years! Not readily available here & don't taste as good as fresh! You're a lucky man!

Thanks for that historic photo! I can't image the destruction that Europe suffered! Also yesterday with the Brussels attack! MUCH to be thankful for!!!!
Ended up with 10" of snow here. Ice on the bottom of it all so was heavy to get it cleared away! Richard Q, let the solar heat melt it for you! Supposed to be in the 50's here by the weekend!
