OK, I do not know much about this camera and there is no manual with it. It belongs to my daughter-in-law and she brought it by and left it with me to see if I can figure out why it won't focus. All her pix are blurred. Well, I think I see right off what it's doing, but can't find where to fix it. It seems like it is set on a long exposure. I re-set it to default settings but I can still hear it click open and take a few seconds to close each time I snap a photo. I have been through the whol menu, and I am probably looing right past the obvious fix, but so far nothing. Any suggestions?
PS: I checked the manual on line, but have not found the answer. I hate to have to read the whole thing if someone can give me some quick knowledge.
Thanks, Jo
If you post an example and check the "store original" box so someone can download it and see the exif data. That should allow us to see what the camera is doing, which is much better than us wildly guessing.
Do you know the condition of the battery, Jo?

For a manual, go to:

I have a P-90; I use it when my SX1-IS is not available. Good camera.
More info: Make top dial is NOT on "Scene"; if it is, go to menu and see what scene it's set for. Now, set dial to P, S, A or M. Finally, with camera on, push left rear quadrant switch and make sure self-timer switch is set to "Off."

Will try to get a picture with it right away.

Danilo, don't know about the battery. As I said, it belongs to my DIL and she said she hasn't used it in a long time just because of the focus.
I'll take a look. I'm just trying to keep from having to read a whole manual to re-set her camera.
Checked that out...says N/A
Some of these manuals are available as pdf downloads. and you just might be able to use the information from another model in the same mfg line. At least , you might find how they approach this.

Ok. I just took these sitting right here...BAD, white walls, no good subjects right now, but one is in AUTO, one in P.
OOPS, resized with Irfanview...you want originals???
It's such a wild shot but...
As Bill said, perhaps the self-timer is on, in which case there would be 2 sounds separated by some length of time. Also, the user may no longer be holding the camera still by the time the picture would be taken. Worth checking...
They look good. Maybe the DIL should give the camera to you!

   Very funny. She is so disgusted with it, she might just do that! Thanks.
Well, these 2 didn't turn out as badly as a few I tried earlier. I did check the self timer, but it was not on.
I have a different bridge camera (Canon) and mine has things this one doesn't have OR I just can't find everything...not sure which.
I just have a sneaking feeling that it is something I'll find after a while and feel so dumb for not seeing it to begin with. I did hesitate to ask for quite a while.
