I'm not at this time, but FYI: I don't know what "WTB" stands for, and, why aren't you stating the lens' brand, its focal length(s), and maximum aperture(s)? Prospective buyers are going to ask you that anyway. :-D

Sorry, I thought WTB was understood for Want To Buy. I would like something in the 100mm range with at least an f/4 or f/3.5 max aperture. Don't know if there are any after-market fully automatic lenses that fit those qualifications.

riskot, no need to apologize. Perhaps I'm the ignoramus, but I wager I'm not alone. Even in Medicine, the same initials can stand for different things. Why should everybody know each others' "Alphabet Soups"? Just realize that if you hadn't explained "WTB" to me, I would still have thought you were trying to SELL a lens. :D 8-)

riskot, this may be obvious to you but it wasn't to me, even though I was born in 1960. I bet you've used a newspaper before to place a want-ad. As we know, newspapers charge by the # or incremental # of characters in the ad, whereas at least on the Hog, there's no such $ restriction. So you used an old habit, i.e. the WTB "alphabet soup," when in fact you could "afford" to be more explicit but didn't realize that. I know I have some "obsolete" habits and ways of thinking as well. Occasionally, my 18 yo son points them out to me.

OMG I didn't mean to confuse anyone or start WWIII. My excuse is that I believe that we're born with a set number of words to use before we die and at 77 I'm trying to conserve as many as possible. I do apologize. LOL

There are NONE - and you and I may not live long enough to see one !

There are plenty of adaptable manual focus/aperture lenses that are "useable".

There is a FE 70-200 f4 OSS lens for BIG bucks !

Not too sure what range a medium telephoto covers; however, Samyang makes a nice FE 135mm f/2 (manual) lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1110690-REG/samyang_sy135m_e_135mm_f_2_lens_for.html). I own this lens and like it.

I also have Sony's FE 24-240mm and 70-200mm f/4, which I realize are not a primes. I would rate the image quality of the Sony FE 70-200 below that of the 24-240, even though it is twice the price of the 24-240; sadly!

You too, eh? G-d, even B&H uses this incredibly ambiguous descriptor as a category choice for lenses. In 35 mm equivalent terms, does "medium telephoto" mean as short as 50 mm? Or 35 mm? And what is the maximum for such? 75 mm? 100? 150 mm?

I have an extra lens, the Tamron 18-200mm F3.5, with Vibration Control, that I could sell if you are interested. The reason it is an "extra" lens is because I prefer the 18-105 Sony "G" lens due to the electric zoom. Anyway, let me know.

I did a little Googling of "medium telephoto". Results:
- Wiki Medium: 67-206mm (30-10° field-of-view)
- Moderate: 85-130mm
- Medium: 135-300mm

So there we have it... Anything from 67 to 300mm

Now that's what I call a PRECISE & UNIFORMLY OBSERVED TERM!
Thanks, bwana! 👍🏻👍😎

So aside from WTB, what range of "Medium Telephoto Lens" are you looking for? Now that we've sort of decided "Medium" can apply to anything between 67mm and 300mm...

You just introduced the term "equivalent" to the conversation. I think it would be helpful to many (me, at least) if we mentioned the 35mm equiv, otherwise, who's to know what lens is being bought, sold or used?
