I think if I had a speedlite, these would have been better. The girl is my best friend's granddaughter and her boyfriend. A beautiful couple.

You're right... a fill-in light would have added a lot...Really good BW... Why not try and lighten them up a bit in editing... Sure won't hurt....

Very nice photos! Might be able to adjust in PP, but next time try a white foam core board for reflecting the natural light, or a fill flash. Great, natural and relaxed poses though. Good job!!

You are right about the speedlight (or reflector). Really nice images, but all three have the dreaded raccoon eyes.

I do tons of portraits and a high percentage outside and 100% have fill from either a speedlight, a studio strobe, or a reflector. Sometimes two of them.

Even the little pop-up flash is good for this. It is not good for much else, but can be perfect for killing those dark sockets. Dial it down -1.5 EV or so and try it.
