You might want to charge up your batteries John. When it finally happens, it seems to happen all at once. Our cherry and pear trees broke out literally overnight.

I usually shoot this tree in the fall when its multi-colored leaf patterns delight the eye. This year I started early and have been stopping by every few days to watch their progress. Quite honestly, I had passed these spring-blooming trees in the past and never realized what they were. Thankfully I've become more educated.

Nice to see them starting to bloom. In my part of the state, close to the mountains we are seeing neither the red buds nor the pears bloom yet. The pears are getting close. I like what you have done with these as well.

Thanks Geoff. It was fun playing with DOF on this one, mainly because there was such good color in the subjects.

Thank you Andrea. The "red buds" themselves are beautifully designed when you capture them close up.

Thanks Tom. Pretty soon the Azaleas will be vying for attention.

Thanks Bob. I guess the name "redbud" is completely appropriate for this tree.
