Jana, I have been going there for almost 4 years and only seen this maybe three times. They are crossing from one body of water to another. If they have babies it could be a different story. The crossing takes less than a minute.

I saw it swimming up to the bank, then got my distance from it and waited. Happens quick when they cross.
