Got it, but the price listed is $79.95 for now. Maybe it will change at 1:00???

I'm interested but I downloaded the trial version last night and it's SLOWWWWWW.... nivigating my hard drive causes a spinning wheel of death for several minutes. I've installed updates but it didn't help. Also, before installing the update Adobe DNG files opened with horizontal portions cropped out so the files were short... not too impressive of a demonstration...

I think it's also worth noting this is only $40 from Corel directly - not sure why NewEgg has it for $80

If you want to see the $20 PSP, it begins at 1pm Pacific. Then after the window is over the price goes backup.

Or perhaps go to newegg.com and signup..

Humm Sloscheider...I note you have SLO in you name... are you still running that 8088 with 256 kbit memory? Surly photos do not look good on that amber screen.

Seriously, I do not find the program slow. This program does more than PSE

Below from Cited Reference Just Conclusion "Verdict" shown

"Corel PaintShop Pro X4 Verdict http://www.ephotozine.com/article/corel-paintshop-pro-x4-ultimate-review-17372
Corel PaintShop Pro X4 offers a lot of features and advanced tools for an excellent price.

The software offers far more options and controls than the typical free software (such as Google Picasa) and is ideal for anyone wanting more control over their images, or for anyone who wants to speed up their workflow. There is only so much you can do with free software before you start beginning to be limited, for example if you want to add text, overlay other images or look at HDR imaging.

Corel PaintShop Pro X4 gives you advanced controls and makes it easy to use them and start using it straight away. It feels really easy to pick up and start using, and the new interface works well (although some of the additional windows could be cleaned up a bit to match better).

It even goes beyond the nearest competitors giving you more control than Adobe Photoshop Elements, and rivalling Lightroom but at a nearly four times cheaper price. You could even consider using this as a replacement for Adobe Photoshop, and save yourself hundreds of pounds. Highly Recommended! " All cited from referenced article.. note article was much longer...

I have the Ultimate version which has the Nik plug-in and has some cool filters but I wasen't able to get other add on's to download and it seems impossible to contact them online.I'am going to try to call them on Monday to clear this up.The Manage window shows some noise on certain images but in Adjust or Edit window's it clears up.Might just be my down loaded copy.

All in all a pretty nice program if quirks can be addressed although I've only had Elements 2 to compare it to.I'am pretty computer stupid but am learning.Good luck all!.

Aloha

:-D Heh, alas it is only running on an i3 processor. I do remember those amber screens :) I seem to recall really liking the Herculees graphics cards as they supported 40 or 50 lines of text instead of the standard, what..., 25 lines? I also remember laying hands on a "portable" Compaq pc with the something like 6 inch green screen and dual floppy drives. It was as big as a sewing machine and heavier!

Seriously though, LR 4 has had reports of running very slow but it runs great for me. PS Pro 4 literally sits for two minutes while starting up, then I asked for a listing of files on my desktop and it spun for another two minutes before bringing that up - very strange... This is a relatively clean install of Windows 7 64 bit Pro (1 month old) on a Seagate Hybrid drive (8 gig SSD (for read cache) teamed up with a 750 gig magnetic drive).

I have heard good things about PS Pro and thought I'd give it a try before upgrading to PSE 10. This should be fixable and for $20 I'll likely just buy it...

I just ran a check, 30sec and not rushing the click on the edit. 15 sce to get the program up...
18 Sec ready to roll, edit, for PSE-10
In the past, I have had problems with Corel WP after installing Word! Could be a little accidental sabotage by Adobe. Also there is a fix/upgrade which is as big as the program to start with. Be sure to download that.
I am running an AMD Quad, 4 gig memory. About 4 years old, CPU has a special dust on the filter to keep it warm... OUCH time to clean.
The sale is active at this moment...
Oh yes, earlier I forgot to mention the 5 meg hard drive and the 9 pen printer.. and god love it... DOS!!

I just installed my Ultra on a second drive and when I registered, they sent a download link to all of the plugins... those plugins are worth a lot of $. I also have Topaz Labs plugins... the combo of any thing and Topaz give you a magic wand to the land of OZ. Photo magic.. details that you do not see are conjured via math algorithms.

EDIT: As I was typing this the $19.99 price popped up. I guess they were just slow.
