I just received a older Kmart tripod, model 20-08-44 I am not sure if it can be used on a Nikon 610 or not. And does anyone know how to lock the legs. It is a decent tripod but not as heavy or strong as my bogan 3036 with a 3047 head which I am pretty sure would be fine. Thanks

I checked out the tripod online. It looks like it has lever locks on the legs.

I googled the tripod and it has the flip lever type leg locks. It appears that you flip them down/out to unlock and up/in to lock.

Before you put that camera on top, make sure the locks are working properly. If just one fails, you could lose the camera. Sometimes they have adjustments for tightness.

I would not put a 610 on an "older K-Mart" tripod. No, No, No.

Do you remember the old Bogen tripod ads?

“Before Lester Bogen put his name on this tripod, he put Lester Bogen on it.”
