D750 Control panel item.

Just downloaded the latest Firmware to my D750, all went well but, when I tried to reformat the SD card this number continues to show up in the control panel window. (1.3k) The SD card is a 32GB Lexar Pro HC. Used this new card after formatting it in the camera. I have tried to format in my PC and the computer indicates its formatted, the same when formatting in the camera. This 1.3k keeps showing up and the card will take pictures but the picture count remaining does not appear, only this 1.3k.
It doesn't seem to be a Nikon problem because other cards work fine. It looks like a problem with Lexar. Any feed back will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is it possible you have protected images on the card?

Are your other cards smaller by any chance?

Oh! What Bill said triggered a thought. I don't think the picture count will change until you have 1.2k images remaining on the card. You have to shoot more than 50 or images. As a test try switching to another format JPG to NEF for example, or the other way around, or changing the size of the images to be recorded. That should result in a change in the number of the remaining images.

If you choose to shoot the HIGHEST QUALITY JPEG with a 32 gb card, it indicates 1.3k as an approximation of room for 1300 photos on the card. (change to the middle quality and you will see the number go up)

I have not talked to Lexar yet but could this be that instead of giving a picture count of capacity remaining, you have a bite number instead!

No.

Did you bother to read the above posts? There are some good answers posted by Bill and rleonetti.

Do you simply choose to ignore them?

I'm going to un-watch this now as you don't seem to be receptive to good advice.

That was my intention. I guess I hit the wrong target. :)

Sorry guy's:
Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees! rleonetti was absolutely correct on his thought. If you change to NEF or NEF+JPEG you now get the approximate picture count remaining.
Now I have to ask another relavent question, Is this something that is in the DNA of the new Lexar Cards and can this feature be changed to what I may have gotten used to?
Picture count using just JPEG fine.

It is a function of your camera. Every Nikon I owned shows pictures remaining. Don't know what you were used to.

Do you realize that 1.3k is the picture count remaining?

Like I was saying Bill, I am a little slow at this sometimes and the light bulb came on and realized that these higher capacity cards are over 999 and I'm sorry if I let that get passed me. I do appreciate all the help. Tom R.

No problem. It took me a while to find the information when I got my first high capacity card. Nikon doesn't make it clear in the manual.

Remember the days of film, when we bought a roll of 36 exposures if we wanted to take a lot of pictures? :D
