I used a small plastic toy dragon to create this image.

Creative and fun! Love the background color and also your low perspective. How did you create the fire?

Personal preference: I'd like to see some space beyond the fire, not have it touch the edge of frame. Also the fairly large amount of out of focus foreground I'm not sure is adding to the impact. Perhaps consider a crop there?

I created the fire with a few strokes the brush tool in the editor. Initially I did not plan to add fire, so unfortunately I didn't allow more space for it in the original image capture. I agree, there is a bit too much out of focus foreground. When I tried cropping some of the foreground, it became all the more obvious that this is a tiny toy - which I want to avoid as much as possible. A typical problem when attempting to make miniatures appear life size, I suppose. I think I will make another attempt at this in the near future. Thank you for your helpful input, Linda!

Here is a cropped version, with a little darkening on the bottom to hide the out of focus.

Interesting 2c4. The second version is better, imo.

Thank you. I think you may be right about the second version.

I do like #2 better. As far as it looking too much like a toy, you could post a large file size to pp forum, and ask for editing suggestions.

There is a lot of creativity there (just check out my last post to that forum asking for fun versions); I could even see some Topaz Simplify possibilities with this :)

Of course you can do the same here too; TheeGambler's challenge with the blue bomb produced amazing results!

Thank you!

One way to diminish the plastic look is to "paint" semi-transparent textures onto the surfaces in editing. Takes quite some work to do it convincingly, especially for me who is not fluent in that sort of editing. A good skill to have, that's for sure.
