UHH members, as I stated last month I just paid for and I am in the process of downloading and initializing Elements 14. It has to be one of the longest set-ups I have ever done. And hour (close to) accomplish I all. Now the learning experience. This will keep me off the site for awhile and I will be returning after I understand the basics.
I want to thank all the individuals who helped me decide on which way to go. I did a one time buy rather then the rent, as stated for the reasons in other posts. It is the old man in e that comes out about rentals and all.
Thanks again, Greg

Angela, I have it loaded and played with one photo. It has way more power than anything I have tried in the past. I am now rereading all the UHH posts on the subject. Going to have fun but will be tied up reading for a couple of days at the min and then I have Utube and any book(s) I may also buy.
Greg
I'm more of a visual learner, I need to watch. Check out Anthony Morganti on youtube, he's very informative.

I found that Youtube goes too quick - I prefer the written tutorials. Some I printed off and filed. Look for Emagazines and websites and bookmark the good ones for later reference.
troll the 2nd hand bookshops and charity shops for any PSE version books. The old ways in these books still work.
A quick way to learn PSE is to actually load an image and decide what you need to do to it and then search each step. That way you get the work done as well as learn something. I find I lose attention if I just read the manual without actually getting hands on. If you learn what you need first then the process has can be instantly rewarding.
Have fun

I learn and maintain what I learned by doing what you suggest. I have already been playing with 14 and found some things out. It maybe a rather slow process to someone who know it but it is a process that does work for some.
Thanks for commenting.

Bought about 4 months ago and have been learning ever sense. You will find it is a great program but does have a learning curve if you haven't been doing PP before. There are some great books in the B&N bookstore but not ready to pay $50 as yet. Think you will enjoy and has been suggested, just start playing with it and you will be surprised how quickly things fall in place. As for me, I use a combination of youtube, playing and books to learn.
May I also suggest you check with Southeastern Camera in Raleigh as they sometimes hold classes and my have one on Elements 14.

About an hour to load? Your computer may need to be cleaned. Mine took about 15 min if I remember correctly.
Scott Kelly books are outstanding with easy to follow instruction and lots of screen shots. Have fun!

Yep, about 15 minutes or a little less. I stated that amount of time based on what the site was telling me. I know better.
Greg
As you probably know we have two camera stores Pace and Southeastern, of the two I find Southeastern the most helpful.
